A few years ago, our customer had purchased tons of live edge slabs because the price was right (they probably weighed a couple tons . . . we would know, we moved them all by hand ;).  Unfortunately, he could not use them in their current state.  He wanted to build a small art studio out of the wood, but needed them turned into lumber.  So, we used our portable mill like a giant bandsaw (which is what it is) to re-saw all the live edge slabs into usable lumber.
