Sawmill & Kiln Services
If the trees you are looking to mill up are hardwoods, you would be best served by our on site services. The logs would be transported to our property. We mill them up here, stack and sticker them to be air-dried, move them into the kiln after they reach 30% moister content, and then sterilize the wood after it reaches 8-10% moister content. Our Wood-Mizer LT40 Wide can handle logs that are up to 20 feet long and 36 inches wide. Our Granberg Alaskan Chainsaw mill can handle logs from 36 inches to 68 inches wide.
Kiln Services
Do you have wood that needs to be dried? Or have you bought some air dried wood that you want to be brought down to 8% and sterilized to make sure there are no insect eggs left in the wood? We use a dehumidification kiln to dry our wood. At the end of the drying cycle, the temperature is turned up to 150 degrees for 24 to 72 hours (depending on the thickness of the wood). This not only ensures that the insects that might have survived the drying process are killed, it is designed to kill their eggs.
Live Edge Slabs
We can mill just about whatever you are looking for. You can even sell some of the wood we mill to help pay for our services
Dimensional Lumber
If you are looking to build a specific project, we can cut the wood to the dimensions you request, depending on what we can get out of each log.
Custom Lumber, Posts & Beams
There are some sizes of lumber you cannot pick up at your local lumber yard. This is especially true when you are looking to build a Post and Beam or Timber Frame Building. Using logs cut to the length you need, we can custom cut lumber, posts and beams for your specific needs.
Due to the demand of our on site and kiln drying services, we have put a pause on our portable sawmill services. We may offer this again at a future date.
